How to choose the ideal lopper: mechanics and cutting leverage

When tackling thicker and more vigorous branches, choosing the right type of lopper makes all the difference. The leverage effect combined with proper blade geometry ensures effective cutting on both soft green wood and harder, dry wood. Here are the features of the available technologies:

Bypass Loppers

Bypass loppers are the most popular choice for general maintenance pruning. The sharp, curved blade slides past a counter-blade with a smooth and effective scissor-like motion.

Ideal use: Fresh green wood, tall shrubs, hedges, and thick live branches.

Advantages: They deliver a clean, straight cut that doesn't crush plant tissue, promoting fast healing and preventing fungal infections.

Double-Blade Loppers

Inspired by the rich Italian pruning tradition, these loppers feature two symmetric, sharp blades that meet precisely in the center of the branch when closed.

Ideal use: Orchards, citrus groves, and woody crops where cutting precision is paramount.

Advantages: They evenly distribute pressure to prevent bark crushing, allowing for smooth, clean, flush cuts.

Anvil Loppers

The anvil mechanism utilizes a wedge-shaped sharp blade that cuts against a flat aluminum surface, acting like a heavy-duty guillotine.

Ideal use: Dry branches, hardwood, brushwood, and thick dead wood.

Advantages: They deliver maximum cutting torque, drastically reducing strain on the operator's arms and shoulders.

Telescopic Loppers

To reach higher canopies without ladders or to tackle tough branch diameters, we offer models equipped with extensible handles. These solutions allow you to work safely from the ground.

Why choose our professional loppers?

Forged Alloys and High-Carbon Steel: blades and counter-blades crafted from high-carbon steel to ensure long-lasting edge retention.

Ergonomic, Non-Slip Grips: lightweight aluminum handles designed to absorb cutting shock.

Craftsmanship and Technological Excellence: Japanese engineering precision combined with the durability and modularity of traditional Italian manufacturing.
